
Atlas Arran OCC XLR Inteconnect Cable
A new generation. Technically and sonically sophisticated cables created to complement the worldās ļ¬nest stereo components, the Arran family represents Atlasā most accomplished OCC copper audio cables to date.
The Arran OCC XLR is our āstatementā solid-core OCC copper interconnect, designed to fully complement the performance of XLR-equipped components in the very finest audio systems.
To avoid the ābarriersā caused by connecting different materials, the cable features OCC copper pins with our customary precision cold-weld connection ā facilitating true āsource to destinationā signal flow. Termination is with our aluminium alloy ādark Chromeā XLR connectors.
The cable utilises a pair of conductors, each made up of six solid OCC strands surrounding a seventh central core, tension wrapped in a multi-layer microporous PTFE dielectric.
An advanced continuous screen with a copper shielding braid ensures minimal RF interference and noise susceptibility.
Fully screened against the ingress of RFI ānoise,ā this Arran cable also incorporates our precision dd (dual-drain) system, where twin symmetrical drain wires connect the screen to the cable return/plug interface, allowing cable termination without distorting, twisting or mechanically stressing the precision-laid screen.
The result is a beautifully balanced, smooth, natural sound with an extremely low noise floor and correspondingly wide dynamic range. Music is revealed with nuance, energy plus precise timing and detail, but as part of a coherent whole, lacking any sense of artificial emphasis or exaggeration.
We designed every single aspect of Arran to minimise any audible signature.
Remove the influence of the cable itself, and only the music remains.
